WB Youth Cultural Fund Local Workshops in Serbia

SERBIA – This month, RYCO Local Branch Office in Serbia organized two Western Balkans Youth Cultural Fund local workshops, dedicated to all individuals and CSO representatives interested in raising their capacities for applying for regional cultural grants. The first workshop took place on Divčibare at the beginning of the month, while members of the CSOs gathered in Mokrin from June 21 to 23.

During these two workshops, gathered participants had a chance to discuss and share opinions on cultural activism, the difference between art and engaged art, as well as to learn how to turn their innovative ideas into concrete project proposals. They were presented with RYCO’s work, mission, and specifics of the Western Balkans Youth Cultural Fund project and Open Calls. Creative strategies and proposals for incorporating RYCO’s thematic areas such as intercultural learning, peacebuilding, and reconciliation into projects in the field of culture were developed as part of the individual and group work.

Two workshops are part of capacity-building within a regional, multi-year project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO). It supports cultural workers, young artists, and CSOs working with youth and culture, in promoting youth cultural activism and creative solutions for social and political issues in the Western Balkans. The Fund fosters regional cooperation, intercultural dialogue, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
